These terms are an agreement between you and Turtle Techsai, 74/15 Nehru Nagar (East), Bhilai, Chhattisgarh 490020, India ("we", "us"), for the NoteSathi app, this website and the services behind them ("NoteSathi"). By using NoteSathi you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Who can use NoteSathi
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract under Indian law.
- You may use NoteSathi for your own study, work and personal purposes. One account is for one person.
2. Your account
- You can start as a guest without signing up. A guest account lives on your phone: if you uninstall the app or lose the phone before signing in, your guest recordings and notes may be lost. Sign in with Google to keep them across devices.
- Keep access to your phone and Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us straight away at contact@turtletechsai.com if you think someone else is using it.
3. Recording other people
NoteSathi records whatever your phone's microphone hears. You are responsible for making every recording lawfully. In particular:
- Follow the rules of your college, coaching institute or workplace. If your teacher or institute does not allow recording, don't record.
- For meetings, interviews and calls, tell everyone before you start and get their consent where the law or the setting requires it. The app asks you to confirm this and gives you a consent message to share.
- Don't record private conversations you are not part of, people in places where they expect privacy, exams, or anyone who has asked you not to.
- Recording laws differ between countries and, in some countries, between states. Where everyone's consent is required, get it.
More guidance is in Recording responsibly. NoteSathi does not record phone calls.
4. Your content
- You own your content: the recordings and files you add, and the transcripts, notes and study material made from them.
- You give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit your content, including through the providers listed in the privacy policy, only to provide NoteSathi to you and as the privacy policy describes. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups.
- You confirm you have the right to add the content, and to record the people in it.
- Lectures you bought, such as pen-drive or online coaching classes, may be protected by copyright. Use NoteSathi for your own study of them. Don't share or sell transcripts or notes of paid courses, or process course libraries in bulk to redistribute them.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use NoteSathi to:
- break any law, or record or upload content you have no right to;
- harass, threaten, defame or invade the privacy of anyone;
- upload content that sexually exploits anyone, promotes violence or terrorism, or is otherwise illegal;
- infringe anyone's copyright or other rights;
- get around limits on hours or features, for example by creating many accounts, or resell the service;
- copy, reverse-engineer or interfere with NoteSathi, its security or its providers, or access it by automated means other than the app and website.
We may remove content or limit an account that breaks these rules, and report illegal content to the authorities.
6. AI-generated content
- Transcripts, notes, quizzes, flashcards, mind maps, audio recaps and answers are generated automatically by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete. Check important points against the audio: every point in your notes links to the moment it came from.
- NoteSathi is a study aid. It is not a substitute for your teacher, official study material, or professional advice (for example on tax, law or medicine), and it does not guarantee any exam result.
- Audio recaps use a synthetic voice and are labelled as AI-generated. Don't present them as a real person's voice.
7. Plans, hours and payments
- Recording and saving are free. Turning audio into transcripts and notes uses processing hours, counted by the length of the audio and charged once per recording. A file you have already processed, and processing that fails, are not charged.
- Every account gets free hours to start and a small free allowance each month. Paid plans, the Exam Pass and top-ups add hours, as described on the pricing page when you buy. Unused monthly hours roll over for one month; Exam Pass hours can be used any time in its 4 months; top-ups last 12 months.
- Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST unless shown otherwise. In other countries the app store shows the price in your currency.
- In the app, you pay through Google Play (or the App Store on iPhone), under their terms. On this website, you pay through Razorpay. Monthly and yearly plans bought on the website use a UPI AutoPay mandate; we notify you at least 24 hours before each debit, as the Reserve Bank of India requires.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. We remind you before a yearly plan renews. You can cancel any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- If we change a price, we tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
- If you run out of hours, recording still works; new recordings wait and are processed when your hours renew or after a top-up. If your plan ends, nothing is deleted because of it: your notes stay readable and exportable.
- Refunds are covered by our cancellations and refunds policy.
8. Changes to NoteSathi
We keep improving NoteSathi and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you paid for or make a change that significantly reduces what your plan gives you, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of a paid period. NoteSathi may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems beyond our control; recording on your phone keeps working.
9. Ending your use
- You can stop using NoteSathi and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). Deleting your account does not cancel an app-store subscription; cancel that in the store.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or the law, or to protect other people. Where we can, we will warn you first and let you download your notes.
10. Our rights
NoteSathi, its software, design, name and logo belong to Turtle Techsai. These terms don't give you any right to them beyond using the app. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
11. Disclaimer
We work hard to keep NoteSathi reliable, especially at saving your recordings. Even so, apart from the commitments in these terms and the guarantees the law gives you, NoteSathi is provided "as is", without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost marks, lost income or lost opportunities, and our total liability for any claim relating to NoteSathi is limited to the amount you paid us for NoteSathi in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of content you added or a recording you made without the permission it needed, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to our Grievance Officer first (see Contact and grievances); most problems are solved that way. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission or any mandatory consumer rights where you live.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app at least 15 days before it takes effect. If you keep using NoteSathi after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop and delete your account.
16. General
These terms, the privacy policy and the policies they link to are the whole agreement between you and us about NoteSathi. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over NoteSathi; your rights under them stay the same.
